Why Polymarket is illegal in Belgium
Belgium requires a national licence for every form of online gambling. After warnings went unanswered, the Gaming Commission blacklisted Polymarket, which obliges internet providers to block it and payment providers to refuse transactions. Belgium also co-signed the June 2026 European statement on prediction markets.
